YVG visited Valjevo and Arilje on 2nd of March[Mar 2, 2008]
On the 2. of March, the new World Bank Director and Regional Coordinator for the Southeastern Europe, Jane Armitage has started her visit in Serbia, by visiting the elementary school Stevan Colovic in Arilje and Medical Center in Valjevo. During this visit, she was accompanied by Mr. Simon Gray, the director of the World Bank office in Serbia, Mrs. Vesna Kostic, external affairs associate in the World Bank office in Belgrade, Mrs Gordana Stojanovic, Project communication associate in the Energy Efficiency Agency and Ms Ana Djelic, representative of the Youth Voices group. The two visited objects were previously included in the Energy efficiency project, financed by the World Bank in Serbia. In Arilje, our group had a meeting with the municipal mayor Zoran Micevic, during which we talked about the activities to make better results regarding energy efficiency. After this meeting, we have visited the school, where the children have prepared the adequate presentation of their paintings, photos and expressed the high level f the ecological consciousness. After that,the group has visited Medical center in Valjevo, which was also included in the World Bank Energy Efficiency project. Here we attended a very effective presentation of what the medical center looked like previously, and what we have developed so far. Also, in this meeting, our group met with Mrs. Elizabet Paunovic, assistant of the Minister of the health care, Mr. Sasa Rikanovic, Director of the project management Unit in the Ministry of health care and Ms Ana Djordjevic, World Bank health care expert. Mrs. Armitage was more than pleased with this visit and she has expressed a great contentment with the current development of the projects. Also, she was introduced with the Youth voices initiative and our up to date work. She was very glad to know about the members, activities and further plans of our group and she even made some suggestions and initiatives.
