Round table – “Civil Society in Serbia ? – challenges of the future”[Mar 12, 2008]
Youth Voices Group members (Dusko Krsmanovic, Nikola Vucicevic, Dimitrije Talic and Dejan Tonic) attended on March 11th, 2008 in Media Center the round table “Civil Society in Serbia ? – challenges of the future”, which was organized by the Center for development of Civil Society MileniuM, as part of the project “The Future of Civil Society in Serbia”. After the introduction of Zoran Zivkovic (President of MileniuM), in first part of the round table Ivan Vejvoda (Executive Director of Balkan Trust for Democracy), Sonja Liht (President of Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence), Milica Delevic PhD (Deputy of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia) and Danilo Milic (Program Coordinator of Olof Palme Center in the Republic of Serbia) addressed to the audience. In the second part H.E. Josep M.Lloveras (Chief of delegation of European Commission in the Republic of Serbia), Goran Svilanovic (Assistant at Belgrade Center for Human Rights), Vesna Pesic PhD (President of Center for Peace and Democracy Development) and Professor Vukasin Pavlovic PhD (Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade) were speaking. After that discussion was following. With regards on recent developments in Serbia, at the round table among all it was said that the Civil Sector will survive in the future, that the greater ‘loudness’ of the Civil Sector is necessary, that EU will keep supporting the Civil Sector in Serbia, that the level of activism and volunteerism is present on all levels and that the youth activism is the necessity in Serbia.
