Agreement on cooperation of SEEA and CCCM

Serbian Enenrgy Efficiency Agency (SEEA) and the Constant Conference of the cities and municipals (CCCM) have signed the Agreement on cooperation which has made public the long term successful cooperation between these two organisations.

By signing this agreement, SEEA has expressed its willingness to make valuable benefit in the energy efficiency developing process in the municipals in Serbia. This project is an important step towards further decentralization and towards using resources of the municipals and local communities and in this way it will provide preparation of drafts for changing and amendments of the current laws related to increasing the level of energy efficiency and wider usage of the renewable sources of energy. Also this agreement will provide terms for conducting conciliatory and educating activities, in order to promote energy efficiency in the local community level in Serbia.

 

 

Let's get to know Energy Efficiency Agency

Considering the fact that there will be many news and events regarding the Agency activities, it is rather useful to get to know this Agency even better.

Energy Efficiency Agency is formed as special republic organization meaning separate legal entity. The Agency is registered in the Trade Court in Belgrade on 4 October 2004. The Agency started regular operation by the same day.

Energy Efficiency Agency of the Republic of Serbia (SEEA) was formed by new Energy Law put in force on 1 August 2004. Energy Law defines the establishment (Article 146), duties (Article 147) and beginning date of the regular operation of the Agency (Article 167).

It was founded because of the real strategic need to provide creating energy efficiency system , with wider usage of renewable sources of energy and environment protection, conducting numerous activities which will effect in increasing the consciousness of citizens relating to this topic. For its work the Agency is responsible to the government.

The operation of the Agency is financed through the budget of the Republic of Serbia. The Agency is direct user of the republic's budget. Serbian Energy Efficiency operation is co-founded by the European Union through the European Agency for Reconstruction.

By the beginning date of regular operation the Agency has took over rights, obligations, staff and assets that were by the date of the abolishing of former Energy Efficiency (15 May 2004) taken over by the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

The Agency proceeds with the programmes, projects and activities of former Energy Efficiency Agency established by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Serbia on 30 May 2002 and abolished on 15 May 2004.

Energy Efficiency Agency has published the Informatory about its work. It is currently available only in Serbian language.

 

Sustainable Energy Week

The 2nd EU Sustainable Energy Week, EUSEW 2008, will take place in Brussels, Belgium and in other cities across Europe from Monday 28 January until Friday 1 February 2008. Serbian Energy Efficiency Agency is with 'Serbian Energy Efficiency Measurement Programme in the field of Wind Energy Utilisation in Serbia' among six nominees for the Sustainable Energy Europe Award 2007/2008 in the category 'Co-operation Programmes'.
